About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Payments division, specifically to lead and shape the future of our bill pay product offerings. This strategic role involves partnering closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to drive team success through Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will allocate approximately 60% of their time to backlog management, prioritization, and guiding development execution, while the remaining 40% will be dedicated to hands-on coding, reviewing contributions, and ensuring robust backend service development. This position requires a leader who can oversee system analysis, support existing applications, and develop new features aligned with business goals. The role offers an excellent opportunity to influence product architecture, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to innovative solutions that enhance the banking experience for our clients.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development
- Proficiency in C#.NET, API development, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server
- Hands-on experience with cloud engineering practices
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker containerization
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
- Experience with Git, including platforms like GitHub
- Bachelor's degree in Software Development or related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure (preferred)
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Trunk-Based Development methodologies (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead system analysis and programming activities, ensuring timely, effective, and quality software delivery into production
- Develop, test, and review applications based on business requirements and industry best practices
- Create and modify code using best practices, considering end-user and internal team impacts
- Review code contributions from team members to maintain code quality and standards
- Collaborate on and lead cross-team projects to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of products
- Lead critical tasks and deliverables independently, managing scope, timelines, and expectations
- Participate in and lead cross-functional meetings and technical discussions
- Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative improvements
- Lead unit and integration testing to ensure software reliability, security, and performance
- Debug and troubleshoot issues, providing prompt resolutions
- Contribute to the design and architecture of product solutions
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and project goals
