Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Greater Portland Area
Type: Full-time (or part-time, depending on need)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs in group-home properties.
• Ensure that buildings, equipment, and systems are safe, clean, and fully operational.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and inspections of HVAC, appliances, and safety systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests from staff quickly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inventory of supplies, and work orders.
• Coordinate and occasionally oversee external contractors or specialized service providers.
• Help with minor groundskeeping, snow removal, and keeping common areas clean as needed.
• Assist with emergency repairs or urgent maintenance needs in a way that minimizes disruption to residents.
• Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory standards relevant to residential care homes.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Prior experience in facility maintenance or building repair preferred.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
• Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to after-hours maintenance calls occasionally.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to helping maintain a safe, supportive environment for residents.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
