The Equipment Preventative Maintenance Tech performs routine preventative maintenance in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
Responsibilities
- Follows standard work and safety practices to perform routine maintenance activities
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hand tools and power tools
- Inspects parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools and power tools
- Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices using hand tools and power tools
- Starts devices to test their performance
- Lubricates and cleans parts
- May initiate purchase orders for parts
- May repair or replace electrical equipment
- Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after all processes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in a fast paced lean manufacturing environment; more than 5 years of experience preferred
- Successful completion of a recognized mechanical apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training preferred
- Availability to work any shift and overtime
- Able to build cooperative relationships
- Proven successful work experience with fork trucks and lawn maintenance equipment
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation(s)
- Ability to meet minimum vision requirements for operation of a powered industrial vehicle with or without corrective lenses
