Equipment Preventative Maintenance Tech

The Equipment Preventative Maintenance Tech performs routine preventative maintenance in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.

Responsibilities

• Follows standard work and safety practices to perform routine maintenance activities
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hand tools and power tools
• Inspects parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools and power tools
• Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices using hand tools and power tools
• Starts devices to test their performance
• Lubricates and cleans parts
• May initiate purchase orders for parts
• May repair or replace electrical equipment
• Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after all processes
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in a fast paced lean manufacturing environment; more than 5 years of experience preferred
• Successful completion of a recognized mechanical apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training preferred
• Availability to work any shift and overtime
• Able to build cooperative relationships
• Proven successful work experience with fork trucks and lawn maintenance equipment
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation(s)
• Ability to meet minimum vision requirements for operation of a powered industrial vehicle with or without corrective lenses
