Direct Support Staff Wanted

Job Summary
A young man in Easton with Autism, is looking for direct support staff to work with him in the community and assist with building independent skills at home. He enjoys an array of activities, such as going to the local farmers' markets, swimming, and the trampoline park. He is looking for someone who will enjoy similar activities and can help him connect with other interests.

He is looking for someone who has experience working with individuals with Autism, a bonus if the person has experience with non-speaking individuals. Familiarity with AAC devices and gestural sign language is a plus. Candidates, must be comfortable assisting with toileting and personal hygiene.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Implement care plans tailored to individual needs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning duties as needed.

Skills

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or in memory care settings is highly valued.
• Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior promptly.
• Knowledge of caregiving practices including meal preparation, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with participant, families, and healthcare professionals.

Additional Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have driver's license.
• Must have access to a fully registered and insured car.
• Must be able to pass background check.
• Experience with individuals who have intellectual disabilities is desired but not required.
• Familiarity with self-direction, ODP, and AWC service model is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
