Job Title:
Sr. Financial Analyst II

Position Summary
The
Sr. Financial Analyst
will lead the consolidation of DLC's five-year business plan and annual budgeting process. This role will include partnering with business unit leaders to prepare and understand operational budgets, performing analysis and challenging assumptions where necessary on key budget inputs received from business partners. The incumbent will be serving as a key liaison between the FP&A group and other budgeting functions within the organization and assisting in the preparation of the company's O&M forecast.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly rolling forecast, variance analysis, and budget for supporting departments.
  • Liaison between supporting business units and Finance, providing analytical support, and making recommendations to improve business decision making.
  • Proactively identify problems and opportunities and participate in implementing solutions.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and updates of the financial planning software (Oracle ERP).
  • Support the department's duty to respond to ad hoc requests from senior management and the ownership group.
  • Partners closely with business leadership and Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) to meet the needs of the business unit(s) supported.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Storm role duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related business field required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required, inclusive of direct FP&A and/or financial experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications, such as CPA, CMA, MBA, PMP, etc. preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of or experience with Oracle.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent analytical ability in analyzing budget variances and performing fluctuation analyses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present and discuss findings with senior management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to manage various priorities.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and comfort with change.
  • Prompt executor.

Scope
Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically, accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work is typically of moderate complexity requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed

Decision Impact
Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past experience. Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making in straightforward situations based on precedents.

Hybrid Work
Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles
All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.

Data Governance
Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
