Part Time Night Shift RN

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in a nursing home is responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to residents, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring quality and compliance with all state and federal regulations. The RN plays a key role in promoting resident health, preventing illness, and providing compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor residents' conditions and report any changes to physicians and family members.
• Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other nursing staff.
• Ensure proper documentation of all resident care activities and maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote coordinated and effective resident care.
• Participate in resident care conferences and develop individualized plans of care.
• Educate residents and families about ongoing care and wellness.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe, sanitary environment.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN or BSN).
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to the care of elderly residents.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced long-term care setting.
• May require standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
