Senior Finance Analyst

Duties

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis across various business units, including profit & loss statements, cash flow assessments, and cost accounting to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models using Excel, VBA, Power BI, Tableau, and other business intelligence platforms to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Collect and interpret large datasets through SQL queries and data visualization techniques to inform business decisions.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations that clearly communicate insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance ERP systems and Hyperion applications for improved data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
• Perform variance analysis and scenario forecasting to evaluate potential impacts on profitability and operational efficiency.
• Support governmental accounting compliance and ensure adherence to corporate finance standards.
• Conduct quantitative research on market trends using Bloomberg terminals or similar financial software to inform investment strategies.
• Assist in strategic planning sessions by providing rigorous financial analysis, including profit & loss projections and risk assessments.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements by implementing automation solutions such as Pivot tables, VBA macros, or other tools that streamline reporting workflows.

Skills

• Proven expertise in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions such as Pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, and VBA scripting for automation.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cost accounting, and corporate finance principles.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI for creating compelling dashboards and reports.
• Experience with SQL for data collection and manipulation from relational databases.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Hyperion for financial reporting purposes.
• Ability to perform quantitative analysis involving cash flow analysis, profit & loss statements, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting standards is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with strong business acumen to interpret complex data sets into actionable insights.
• Effective communication skills for writing clear financial reports and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
• Experience in investment banking or corporate finance is advantageous but not mandatory.
