Housekeeping

Position Summary:

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in designated areas, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests, employees, and visitors. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, managing supplies, and adhering to established cleaning standards and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing to ensure all assigned areas are clean and well-maintained.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, replenish toiletries, and ensure that all fixtures and fittings are in good working order.
• Make beds, change linens, and perform laundry duties as needed.
• Empty trash cans, dispose of waste properly, and ensure recycling is handled according to company policies.
• Ensure that all cleaning equipment is properly used and maintained in good working condition.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries in designated areas as required.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to the supervisor immediately.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while carrying out housekeeping duties.
• Follow cleaning checklists and schedules to ensure all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Assist with deep cleaning tasks, including carpet cleaning, window washing, and furniture polishing as scheduled.
• Organize and manage cleaning supplies, ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from guests or employees and provide excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial roles is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights, and work on feet for extended periods.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, bend, and kneel throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to (Insert Weight Limit) pounds, including cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens.
• May require repetitive motion activities such as mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.

Work Environment:

• Typically work indoors in a variety of settings, such as hotel rooms, offices, or other facilities.
• May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other environmental conditions.
• Noise levels may vary depending on the equipment used and work environment.

Travel Requirements:

• No regular travel is required for this position. Housekeeping tasks are generally confined to the assigned facility.

Equipment Used:

• Cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, brooms, and dusters.
• Cleaning chemicals and supplies for various surfaces and areas.
• Laundry machines (washers and dryers), if applicable.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE), as required for safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position does not typically include supervisory responsibilities, though the Housekeeper may assist in training new staff or temporary workers.
