Note: This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.
Job Purpose:
Seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Accounting Manager to lead and optimize financial operations across multiple service centers. This high-impact role oversees accounting processes for multiple locations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in accounting principles, month-end close activities, project management, process improvements, and financial reporting. The role involves managing a nationwide accounting team, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and driving process improvements to support organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nationwide Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 25+ accounting professionals across multiple time zones, ensuring effective collaboration and performance. - Financial Oversight:
Oversee preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets for operations. - Month-End & Year-End Close:
Lead closing processes for multiple service centers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP. - Compliance & Audit:
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and coordinate with external auditors. - Project Management:
Lead accounting-related projects including system upgrades, process automation, and cross-functional initiatives. - Strategic Partnership:
Collaborate with senior leadership to influence business decisions through financial insights, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting. - Monthly Financial Reviews:
Conduct financial reviews with leadership to present results, discuss variances, and recommend corrective actions. - Financial & Strategic Reporting:
Prepare financial and management reports, present industry rate trends, and align operations with business objectives. - ROI Analysis:
Conduct return-on-investment analyses for capital projects and operational initiatives. - Process Improvement:
Identify and implement best practices to streamline workflows and improve accuracy across all locations. - Performance Management:
Establish and monitor KPIs, lead quarterly performance reviews, and foster team development. - Strategic Analysis:
Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. - Internal Controls:
Maintain strong internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience managing nationwide teams.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing diverse teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in project management and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, and SAP.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in warehouse/service center environments with variable temperatures.
- Must be able to safely operate around heavy moving equipment in a fast-paced setting.
