JOB PURPOSE:

This role at Arbitration Forums is as unique as it is rewarding because of the AF IPAAL Values (Integrity, Passion, Accountability, Achievement, Leadership) and TRI Model (Trust, Respect, Inclusion).  

The Data Products Lead Architect is responsible for defining and shaping opportunities brought by data products technology and Artificial Intelligence to the end-to-end insurance Claims process. This role evolves AF's current product data-based line functionality via identification of potential data products and AI-powered capabilities.

As part of an AI-powered solution designing and implementation organization, this role will partner with AF's stakeholders to identify opportunities to define and embed intelligent decisioning in the claims management ecosystem, identify data and data integration services that provide efficiencies to AF and its members.

The Data Products Lead Architect defines configurable and interoperable solutions based on data availability, reliability, and usability that provide our members and partners with options to realize the value of AF's offerings, while optimizing the value delivered.

This role collaborates with the AI, Advanced Analytics, Operations, Marketing, Membership Experience, and IT functions to execute strategic plans that bring innovative solutions and excellent value to our members' organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify data services and integration opportunities, identifying data quality measures for data products.
  • Ensures that data products are self-contained packages that combine data, metadata, and advanced analytics to deliver actionable insights and solve specific business problems.
  • Collaborates in the development of strategies and roadmaps for the data services supported by AF's data hub.
  • Partners with stakeholders to create and maintain functional roadmaps for data products that prioritize the highest value items while actively managing technical debt.
  • Partner with stakeholders to generate strategies for embedding data solutions into business processes and applications, with a focus on progressive functionality deployment and modularization.
  • Orchestrate activities to ensure alignment of data product and AI solution architecture, software engineering and implementations across the data and AI product lifecycle.
  • Plan data product-based initiatives, including timeframes and deliverables, and work closely with Advanced Analytics, IT, Marketing, Operations, and AI to ensure capacity is reserved and obstacles that derail delivery are addressed.
  • Manage data integration architectures, providing AI-powered functionality with a high level of interoperability, configurability, and modularization.
  • Engage with partners to define data quality metrics and governance procedures to be applied to data products.
  • Define SLAs, data access needs, reliability metrics, and ensure metrics are monitored and achieved.
  • Collaborate with Membership Experience to define and orchestrate strategies for the success of implementations of data products with our members, including reviewing solution paths and roadmaps.
  • Collaborates with IT to define and execute strategies for production deployment of solutions, ensuring that solutions can be deployed in the preferred way of our members.
  • Manage the data product architecture lifecycle end-to-end and represent it in roadmaps and collateral materials.
  • Support members in the identification and prioritization of data product use cases to ensure integration and deployment requirements are considered.
  • Partner with Data Governance to define the desired levels of data quality required for data products and ensure that data products are aligned with compliance and regulatory and security requirements.
  • Support data owners in the development of data definitions and business glossaries, ensuring alignment with the Data Governance Program requirements and data cataloging needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • More than 8 years of experience in operationalization of data-based products or high-definition solutions, and integration with business processes and applications.
  • More than 8 years of experience in data architecture, product management, and systems interoperability.
  • More than 8 years applying concepts and techniques related to data governance, master data management, data architecture, data mapping, data quality, and data products principles and concepts, as well as how data products integrate with existing business processes or applications.
  • Proficiency in road mapping, definition, and implementation of prioritization frameworks.
  • Expertise in cloud data platforms, data catalogs, and data governance tools.
  • Domain and industry knowledge, with deep understanding of how Insurance companies and Claims Management divisions work.
  • Experience with technology driven transformations and end to end data products and AI solutions lifecycle.
  • Experience working with agile teams, writing user stories, and grooming backlogs.
  • Functional knowledge of composable products with a high level of configurability.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in the development of implementation and adoption plans for composable offerings, including documentation of configuration requirements.
  • Proficiency in the operations of a not-for-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of advanced data analytics platforms and visualization tools to create reports and dashboards in a self-service approach.

CORE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of cloud services (MS Azure, AWS) and data platforms (Azure ADF, Databricks).
  • Experience with tools that are data intensive, such as MS Azure AI Foundry, Azure ML, Snowflake Cortex AI, Dataiku.
  • Experience in the development of analytic frameworks and software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience designing integrations using tools such as MS Azure API Management, Boomi, MuleSoft, and Apigee.
