Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu plans.
• Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and seasonal ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food service role, preferably within a dietary department or fine dining restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Proficient in meal preparation techniques with an understanding of various cooking methods.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
• A passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu planning.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
