Vectour Group (Vectour) is seeking a highly talented Project Manager for our major event engagements. This position will be responsible for the overall successful delivery of assigned major event transportation projects, including both fleet operations and venue operations. This role serves as the primary project lead, managing planning activities from contract award through execution and closeout. The Project Manager oversees a subset of manager-level staff during events and ensures all transportation services are delivered on time, within budget, and to Vectour's standards of excellence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management
- Lead end-to-end project planning for assigned major events, developing comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial targets are met
Create and maintain project documentation including operational plans, staffing levels, and resource requirements
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and partner organizations throughout the project lifecycle
- Professionally represent Vectour in client and relevant planning meetings as required
Fleet Operations Oversight
- Lead the development of bus and motor pool operations
- Build a team to manage all bus operation functions, including service planning, bus depot, driver scheduling, and dispatch protocols
- Coordinate with our bus procurement and vendor management team to meet project fleet requirements
- Ensure bus scheduling aligns with event timelines and constituent group needs
- Monitor fleet readiness, maintenance coordination, and DOT compliance
Venue Operations Oversight
- Build venue and site transportation operations team
- Develop access planning, crowd management, and wayfinding systems
- Ensure seamless integration between venue operations and bus systems
- Coordinate with security teams and other functional areas at venues
Team Leadership
- Directly supervise a subset of manager-level positions including Venue Managers, Bus Operations Managers, and other relevant managers
- Recruit, hire, and collaborate with workforce managers on onboarding event staff
- Conduct pre-event training and operational briefings for assigned teams
- Provide real-time leadership and decision-making during event operations
Real-Time Operations & Problem Solving
- Monitor operations in real-time using tracking and communication systems
- Make rapid decisions to address service disruptions, schedule changes, and emerging issues
- Serve as primary point of contact for operational issues during assigned events
- Prepare daily operational reports and post-event documentation
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in transportation planning, event crowd management, project management or related field
- Demonstrated project management experience with budget responsibility
Experience managing teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency with project management software, fleet management systems, or transportation technology
- Ability to travel up to 50%, with extended on-site presence during events
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Sports Management, Business, or related field
Preferred
- Experience with major events, conventions, or large-scale public gatherings
- Background in public transit, airport operations, stadium operations or passenger transportation
PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, and weekends during event periods
Salary
- $104,000 - $130,000
- FT
- Remote with travel
