Estimator – Build with Precision. Win with Strategy.

Location: Littleton, CO (In-Office, Some Regional Travel)

Type: Full-Time | Industry: Civil Infrastructure & Retaining Wall Construction

About Tricor Group

At Tricor, we specialize in engineered retaining walls and heavy civil infrastructure across the Rocky Mountain and Midwest regions. Our work supports land development, DOT, and public agency projects where precision, constructability, and cost control are non-negotiable. As we expand our estimating capabilities, we're hiring a seasoned Estimator who can turn plans into profitable, buildable bids—without cutting corners.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Estimating & Proposal Development

  • Develop detailed takeoffs and accurate pricing for retaining wall and civil structure projects.
  • Align bids with scope, specifications, schedule, and client expectations.

Scope Clarification & RFI Management

  • Review drawings and documents to identify gaps or ambiguities.
  • Submit and track RFIs in coordination with engineers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

  • Solicit competitive pricing and scope coverage from subs and suppliers.
  • Validate quotes, lead times, and inclusions to ensure accuracy.

Bid Package Delivery

  • Prepare professional, detailed proposals tailored to agency or private-sector requirements.
  • Break down labor, material, and timeline components clearly for client evaluation.

Pre-Construction Handoff

  • Lead the transition from estimating to operations.
  • Deliver clear documentation and budget assumptions to project teams for scheduling and execution.

Strategic Support

  • Leverage historical data to improve bid accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Contribute insights to help refine our pursuit strategies and estimating assumptions.

Tool & Database Management

  • Use and improve digital takeoff tools, spreadsheets, and cost modeling systems (e.g., Bluebeam).
  • Help drive standardization and tech adoption across the team.

What We're Looking For

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and retaining wall systems.
  • Familiarity with DOT/public works specs and geotechnical factors.

Analytical Skillset

  • Capable of building comprehensive cost models with markups, contingencies, and productivity metrics.
  • Precision in takeoffs and quantity reviews—low tolerance for slippage or guesswork.

Communication & Ownership

  • Clear, confident communicator across teams and in client settings.
  • Takes responsibility for deadlines, follow-through, and bid quality.

Collaborative Mindset

  • Works closely with engineering, operations, and BD teams to align on targets.
  • Sees estimating as the start of execution—not a siloed function.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $130,000/year

Bonus Program: Performance-based incentives tied to accuracy, wins, and backlog growth

Benefits Package: Full family health and dental insurance reimbursement

Additional Benefits:

  • $800/month vehicle allowance or access to a company vehicle
  • Fuel card and company-paid cell phone

Work Location: In-office (Littleton, CO) with some regional travel as needed
