Role: WeDo is currently working with a well funded, product led technology business operating in a highly regulated consumer domain. The organisation develops a digital platform used at scale, where data plays a critical role in shaping customer journeys, decision making, and product performance. This role sits within an established data function and focuses on building and optimising machine learning models that directly influence customer facing product experiences. A key area of focus will be personalisation and recommendation logic, working closely with product and engineering teams to translate complex data into practical, production ready solutions.
Responsibilities: • Work with large and complex datasets to solve product driven business problems using statistical and analytical techniques • Design, build, validate, and deploy machine learning models that improve customer engagement and product effectiveness • Develop recommendation and personalisation models embedded within a live consumer platform • Conduct experimentation and A/B testing to evaluate new features and product changes • Communicate complex analytical findings and approaches clearly to senior and non technical stakeholders • Contribute to shared codebases, following best practices in version control and deployment • Monitor and maintain machine learning models in production environments • Improve data science workflows, tooling, and modelling approaches on an ongoing basis • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow data scientists
Required Skills: • 5 or more years of hands on experience as a Data Scientist in a product focused environment • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL • Experience with core data science and machine learning libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit learn • Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and their application in real world systems • Experience deploying and supporting models in production • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non technical stakeholders • Experience working with version control systems such as Git • Exposure to experimentation frameworks including A/B testing • Awareness of data ethics, bias, privacy, and handling of sensitive customer data • Experience working in cloud based environments Desirable experience includes managed ML platforms, CI CD pipelines, modern data modelling tools, BI tooling, and model performance monitoring.
Why should I apply? You will be working on meaningful, customer impacting data science problems within a mature product environment where experimentation and evidence based decision making are genuinely valued. The role offers clear ownership, strong collaboration with product and engineering, and the opportunity to see your work deployed and iterated on in production.
