We are looking for a hands-on Web Developer to join our Cambourne-based team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites and wants to work closely with designers, marketers, and project managers.
*Responsibilities:*
* Build custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to client needs.
* Convert designs into responsive, accessible WordPress websites.
* Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO.
* Manage all technical aspects of the CMS, including updates, backups, and security.
* Troubleshoot bugs and resolve compatibility issues across browsers and devices.
* Ensure best practices in UX, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design.
* Assist with website migrations, hosting setup, and domain management as needed.
* Provide technical support and training to clients and internal team members.
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging WordPress tools and technologies.
*Required Skills:*
* 3+ years of experience developing WordPress websites in an agency or in-house setting.
* Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery.
* Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, and theme development.
* Familiarity with page builders and when not to use them.
* Experience integrating APIs and third-party services.
