Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Manager, where you will lead the pharmacy operations with expertise, enthusiasm, and a commitment to exceptional patient care. This pivotal role combines clinical leadership with operational management, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and personalized medication therapy. As a cornerstone of our healthcare community, you’ll oversee daily pharmacy functions, mentor staff, and uphold compliance standards while fostering a patient-centered environment that promotes health and wellness.
*Responsibilities*
* Lead and supervise all pharmacy activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
* Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions with aseptic technique.
* Manage inventory levels efficiently to prevent shortages and excess, utilizing pharmacy software and EMR/EHR systems for accurate tracking.
* Conduct patient assessments to optimize medication therapy plans, especially in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, pediatrics, and acute care settings.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services such as immunizations, pain management consultations, and medication administration guidance.
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, including IV insertion, infusion therapies, and patient care initiatives.
* Maintain a high standard of patient service by engaging in thorough medication reviews, patient education, and follow-up care.
* Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations while fostering professional development.
* Uphold safety standards through rigorous aseptic techniques during compounding and sterile procedures.
* Participate in inventory management to ensure proper storage conditions and regulatory compliance for all pharmaceuticals.
*Experience*
* Proven experience as a licensed pharmacist with a strong background in hospital or acute care settings.
* Demonstrated expertise in LTC pharmacy operations and critical care environments.
* Completion of a pharmacy residency program is highly preferred for advanced clinical skills.
* Extensive clinical pharmacy experience including pediatrics, pain management, immunizations, and medical management.
* Familiarity with pharmacy software systems as well as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms.
* Hands-on experience with compounding medications.
* Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles essential for comprehensive patient assessment.
* Experience managing inventory levels effectively while ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information at all times.
* Prior leadership roles as Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager are highly desirable to demonstrate capability in overseeing operations and staff supervision.
