Join our dedicated logistics team in San Antonio, Texas, as a Receiving Clerk! We are looking for an organized and meticulous individual to manage the incoming flow of goods into our distribution center. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment products arrive. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work with documentation, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. We provide a supportive work environment and ensure all employees have the necessary training and PPE to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies, reporting any issues immediately.
- Accurately document all received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage and tracking.
- Organize and stage received materials for put-away by other warehouse staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal teams regarding shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail is essential for accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and inventory systems.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
