A dynamic distribution center in Omaha, Nebraska is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join their team. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, supporting our extensive **Logistics** network. You will operate forklifts to transport, stack, load, and unload materials, ensuring accuracy and **Safety** at all times. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, a valid forklift certification, and experience with various types of forklifts. A strong understanding of warehouse **Safety** protocols, including the proper use of **PPE**, is required. This position involves significant physical activity, including regular **Lifting**, and requires excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklift equipment and report any defects or required maintenance.
- Transport materials between various warehouse locations, including receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
- Ensure all loads are secure and safely transported.
- Adhere strictly to all company **Safety** policies and procedures.
- Wear all required **PPE**, including safety vests, steel-toed boots, and eye protection.
- Assist with **Lifting** of materials when required for proper placement or inventory checks.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow within the **Logistics** operation.
- Follow all **Safety** guidelines for **PPE** and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA certification).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse **Safety** best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant **Lifting**.
- Proficiency in wearing and utilizing appropriate **PPE**.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, balance, and spatial awareness.
- Understanding of basic **Logistics** principles is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
