Our Boston, Massachusetts location is looking for a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated warehouse team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will ensure that materials are moved according to established procedures and that all safety regulations are strictly followed. This position is vital to our overall logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse and preparing them for outbound shipment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange merchandise in a safe and orderly manner.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as required.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in training programs to enhance forklift operation skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear pathways for safe operation.
- Support general warehouse duties as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
- Be prepared for tasks requiring significant lifting and material handling.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform pre-operation forklift checks.
- Skilled in operating various types of forklifts.
- Experience with manual material handling and heavy lifting.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
