Join our dedicated warehouse team in Kansas City, Missouri, as a Picker/Packer. This role is fundamental to our distribution process, ensuring that customer orders are accurately assembled and prepared for shipment. You will be responsible for locating specified items within the warehouse, verifying quantities, and then carefully packing them for transit. Your precision and efficiency will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our logistics chain. This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. We are deeply committed to workplace safety, and all employees must adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse operations and gain experience in the logistics sector. We provide thorough training to ensure you are comfortable and competent in your role. The job involves regular lifting and movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order tickets.
- Verify product codes and quantities against order details.
- Inspect items for any damage or defects.
- Pack picked items securely and efficiently using appropriate materials.
- Apply shipping labels and ensure packages are ready for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and work area.
- Assist with restocking picked locations when necessary.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any issues with inventory, equipment, or safety to supervisors.
- Contribute to team goals and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous picking and packing experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to a safe work environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Team player with good communication skills.
