We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store a variety of goods. Ensuring the safe and secure handling of all materials is paramount, as is maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment. You will perform routine equipment checks and adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks involving frequent lifting of items up to 60 pounds. We are looking for a reliable individual with a strong work ethic, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting. Previous experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator is essential, along with relevant certifications. We are committed to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in appropriate locations.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and organization.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow all logistics guidelines for material handling.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and safety knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and warehouse operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
