We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse. This includes operating forklifts and other equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that inventory is stored safely and efficiently. A strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to **safety**, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment are essential. You will play a key part in our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that materials are readily available for production and shipment. Proficiency in forklift operation and a valid certification are required. Strict adherence to **PPE** and operational procedures is mandatory. The role involves significant **Lifting**.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack materials within the warehouse, ensuring proper organization and storage.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper handling and storage.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of **PPE**.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Support the logistics team by ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods.
- Perform manual **Lifting** of items up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
- Understanding of safety best practices and the importance of **PPE**.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy **Lifting**.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
