We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Houston, Texas. This role is essential for ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. You will be responsible for verifying quantities against purchase orders, documenting any discrepancies, and preparing goods for distribution or storage. A meticulous approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient receiving process are crucial. You will work closely with vendors and internal teams, contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations. Adherence to **safety** protocols and the correct use of **PPE** are mandatory. The role involves some **Lifting**.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect shipments for damage or defects and report any issues immediately.
- Document all receiving activities, including quantities and discrepancies.
- Enter received goods into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stage received items for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of **PPE**.
- Coordinate with inventory control and warehouse staff to ensure smooth flow of goods.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including light **Lifting**.
- Support the overall logistics chain by ensuring timely and accurate receiving.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and **PPE**.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform some **Lifting** tasks.
- Familiarity with logistics processes.
