Our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data and physical stock. Your efforts will directly impact operational efficiency, order fulfillment accuracy, and overall supply chain performance. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to implement and enforce inventory control procedures. A keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to Safety are essential. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across multiple storage locations.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements and status.
- Process inventory adjustments, returns, and transfers accurately.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to optimize inventory flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, promoting Safety and efficient space utilization.
- Ensure all team members are trained on and adhere to inventory procedures and the correct use of PPE.
This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. While physical demands are less intensive than other warehouse roles, occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required. A solid understanding of Logistics principles and inventory management systems is highly desirable.
