*Job Summary:*
Responsible for supporting Vertex Solutions programs utilizing expert level skills in Microsoft Project that provides the foundation and tracking from pre-contract award to post completion. Provides analytical support for projects; developing the master schedule, assists in budget and financial analysis; drafting cost estimates, work statements, and financial reports.
Understands the needs of the project(s) and will identify task and milestone tracking, action items and risk assessments as needed throughout the program life cycle. Partners and communicates with program manager to support manufacturers, suppliers, and customers. Identifies potential issues and utilizes critical thinking to determine the best course of action.

* Build and maintain MS Project Master Schedule
* Manages time effectively to meet project budget and schedule
* Develop project plan/schedule strategy based on SME input and logical framework approaches
* Develops and maintains effective working relationships with team members including ability to present project timeframes, objectives and communications in company meetings
* Create and manage documentation and reports for projects
* Understand the goals, requirements and constraints of each project
* Verify data and information and analyze it to suit the direction of a project
* Track, forecast and report on project progress including metrics and challenges
* Ensure compliance with internal control procedures
* Plan and monitor material requirements to support production timelines
* Collaborates with design and technical staff on projects, technical specifications, and deadlines
* Ability to calculate statistics like mathematical averages and percentages
* Adheres to development deadlines and project schedules
*Competencies:*
* Demonstrated capability to create (from scratch) and present all program requirements in MS Project (Required)
* Ability to interact and influence team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner
* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while demonstrating the initiative to complete projects
* Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
* Ability to change and adapt to new or changing project requirements
* Willingness to learn and improve on technical documentation that consists of but is not limited to:
* Wiring Schematics, Schematic Drawings, and Contractor Data Requirements Lists (CDRL)
* Must be a self-starter with ability to execute across multiple projects.
*Supervisory Responsibility:*
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but will be required to indirectly manage and influence project teams.
*Work Environment: *This job operates in an office environment.
*Physical Demands: *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
*Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: *Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 0900 – 1600 CT. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
*Travel: *Travel is not expected to exceed 10% for this position.
*Required Education, Experience, and Skills:*
* Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, program management, transportation, or engineering
* 5+ years of experience in program management, logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations
* Advanced/Expert in Microsoft Project
* Firm grasp of the supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
* Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
* Ability to meet project deadlines
* Three to five years prior DoD Government Contracting experience a plus
* PMP Certification is a plus
*Work Authorization/Security Clearance:*
