Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Support medication administration and care plan implementation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely during transfers and mobility assistance
- Document patient observations, care activities, and incident reports accurately and confidentially
Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required
- Strong patient observation skills to monitor vital signs and detect health concerns early
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate caregiving approach combined with a commitment to respecting residents' dignity and privacy
