ABOUT THE EVENTS MANAGER POSITION
The Events Manager is responsible for overseeing and organizing all client-hosted and organizational events, managing event inquiries, and handling the planning and execution of these events. This role requires creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of event management. The Events Manager will build community partnerships and spearhead world-class events that advance Mulva Cultural Center's mission and strengthen community engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Develop, plan, and execute a diverse range of events that reflect and advance our mission, setting clear goals while tracking budgets, attendance, and outcomes.
·
Create and manage event budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with organizational goals.
·
Supervise events to ensure seamless operations, proactively identifying and resolving challenges to maintain exceptional experiences for all attendees.
·
Coordinate event logistics, including vendor contracts, and collaborate with the General Manager of the restaurant to manage catering and meal logistics.
·
Communicate across departments to determine staffing needs and ensure every detail is in place for successful events.
·
Serve as the primary point of contact for organizations and individuals interested in hosting events, responding promptly and providing comprehensive information about facilities and services.
·
Meet with clients, vendors, and team members to negotiate contracts and build lasting relationships.
·
Oversee all client-hosted events and room rentals, ensuring client satisfaction and smooth operations throughout the event.
·
Gather post-event feedback, assess event success, and continuously refine strategies to enhance the visitor experience.
·
Actively solicit new event bookings while building and maintaining strong relationships with community organizations and private clients to promote Mulva Cultural Center as a premier event destination and foster ongoing engagement.

Research and schedule local musical talent and performers, ensuring programming aligns with our mission and enriches visitor experiences.
·
Coordinate adult tour groups, including bus tours, delivering engaging and informative experiences.
·
Serve as leader on duty as needed, providing guidance and support to staff during events and operational activities to ensure smooth execution and a positive visitor experience.
·
Assist with various tasks and projects to enhance the overall success of Mulva Cultural Center.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and abilities:

Bachelor's degree in events management, marketing, communications, or related field.
·
5+ years experience in event planning and management, preferably within the cultural, arts, or tourism sectors.
·
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward shared goals.
·
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse groups.
·
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
·
Proficiency in project management tools and marketing platforms.
·
Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
·
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and navigate complex challenges.
·
Culturally competent and committed to working with diverse teams, with a strong alignment to the organization's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
·
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
·
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
·
Willingness to engage in frequent physical tasks, including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching throughout shifts.
·
Ability to access and navigate every department throughout the Center.
