Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities, including autism. This role involves creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment that fosters the growth and development of all students. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for implementing educational programs, guiding classroom activities, and ensuring the well-being of each child in their care.
Lead teachers must have a minimum of a CDA, associates, Bachelor or 9 college credits in early childhood or education or related field. All candidates must bring a copy of their transcript and degree/diploma. Also a copy of First Aid/ CPR Certificate if you have.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and other evaluation methods to tailor instruction effectively.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and support staff to promote child welfare and address individual student needs.
- Utilize various teaching methodologies, including Montessori principles, to enhance literacy education and overall learning outcomes.
- Supervise classroom activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
- Provide support and guidance to teaching assistants and volunteers within the classroom setting.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding educational goals.
Requirements

- Experience working with children in a preschool or childcare setting is essential.
- Familiarity with developmental disabilities, particularly autism, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of literacy education strategies and standardized testing practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to create a structured yet flexible classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in education practices related to child welfare and developmental support.
