We're hiring a
Medical Assistant
to join our outpatient dermatology clinic (North Atlanta Dermatology) in
Cumming, Georgia.
The Medical Assistant will
assist
Physicians and other Providers
by
preparing procedure trays, ensuring adequate supplies for the
department
and
assisting
with patient care.
This is a full-time MA position Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM/4 PM on Fridays).

Responsibilities
- Room
p
atients
 and document intake.
- Obtain and record vital signs.
- Organize patient flow
- Setup p
rocedure tray, instruments, and equipment
according to i
nstructions
- Assist providers with dermatology procedures.
- Prepare Path/lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan
- Respond to patient questions in
office
and on
phone
as instructed
- Review and address clinical task lists and nurse line messages.
- Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments
according to schedule
Keep
appropriate records
of maintenance.
- Maintain medication supplies, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep
appropriate records
- Maintain infection control
and make sure s
upply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
- Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.Â
- Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes in the EMR.
- Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
- Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed
in a timely manner
- Must
maintain
HIPAA compliance
- Other
duties assigned as
deemed
necessary by management
Qualifications
- Able to triage patient concerns.
- Be familiar
with
and compliant OSHA/HIPAA
, infection control
& Blood Borne Pathogen S
tandards
- Experience measuring vital
signs
and preparing patients for appointments.
- Experience administering injections.
- Knowledge of medical terminology,
CPT
and ICD-10 codes.
- Knowledge of office financial policies
- Basic computer skills
and experience in EMR
utilization
- Able to
operate
standard office equipment
i.e.
computer, fax, copier, scanner,
etc
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English
- Ability
to
function
well
in
a
high-paced
and
at
times
stressful
environment.
- Ability to work
in an
effective
cooperativ
e, and courteous manner with
staff
, patients, and visitors.
- Must be able to travel
to satellite offices as needed
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to read

ility to
spell,
sort and file materials correctly
alphabetically or numerically
Licensure/Certifications/Education
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program or completion of a bachelor's degree program in the pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred.
- CPR certified preferred.
- 1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or other clinical patient care experience preferred.
- Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred.
Physical
Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Moderate amount of talking, bending, twisting, reaching, and balancing.
- Use of hands and fingers.
- Talking and listening in person and on the telephone.
- Handling of materials such as paper, supplies, etc.
- Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
- Risk of exposure to infectious organisms and the possibility of injury due to chemicals and sharp objects.
