Job Description: Cognitive Behavioral Intervention–EMP Case Manager Position Summary

The Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI) Case Manager is responsible for providing structured, evidence‑based support to justice‑involved individuals participating in EMP supervision. This role combines cognitive‑behavioral intervention (CBI) facilitation, case management, and accountability monitoring to help participants build prosocial skills, reduce recidivism, and successfully comply with program requirements. The Case Manager works closely with courts, probation/parole, community partners, and internal staff to ensure coordinated, client‑centered service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI) Facilitation

  • Deliver approved CBI curricula in both group and individual formats.
  • Use cognitive‑behavioral techniques to help participants identify risky thinking patterns, develop problem‑solving skills, and practice prosocial behaviors.
  • Maintain fidelity to curriculum standards, including documentation, session structure, and participant engagement.

Case Management & Support

  • Conduct intake assessments to identify participant needs, risks, strengths, and barriers.
  • Develop individualized case plans with measurable goals related to behavior change, compliance, employment, education, and stability.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, skill‑building, and structured support to promote accountability and progress.
  • Connect participants to community resources such as mental health services, substance use treatment, housing, employment programs, and education.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, timely case notes, attendance records, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Prepare written updates for courts, probation/parole officers, and internal leadership as required.
  • Track participant outcomes and program metrics to support evaluation and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Professional Conduct

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and share case updates.
  • Build positive working relationships with justice system partners, community agencies, and internal staff.
  • Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and trauma‑informed practices.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or related field.
  • Experience working with justice‑involved individuals or high‑risk populations.
  • Strong understanding of cognitive‑behavioral principles and behavior‑change models.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and sound judgment in challenging situations.

Preferred

  • Certification or formal training in a CBI curriculum (e.g., T4C, MRT, CBI‑SA).
  • Experience with electronic monitoring systems or community corrections.
  • Familiarity with motivational interviewing, trauma‑informed care, and strengths‑based approaches.
  • Bilingual abilities (e.g., English/Spanish).

Work Environment

  • Primarily office‑based with regular interaction in group rooms and individually in assigned office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45, $48,000.00 per year
