REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES:
Under the direction of the school principal, teachers at Achieve Academy plan instruction, design meaningful learning experiences, and deliver a comprehensive academic program rooted in Expeditionary Learning (EL) and leadership development. Achieve Academy is a K–8 school where students engage in in-depth explorations of leadership traits, community service, and real-world problem solving. Teachers create learning environments that are hands-on, inquiry-based, and connected to authentic community experiences.
Achieve students participate in learning "expeditions" that integrate multiple content areas and challenge students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate character. Teachers design lessons that support students in mastering the Colorado Academic Standards while applying leadership habits such as empathy, responsibility, curiosity, and perseverance.
Collaboration is an essential component of Achieve Academy's model. Teachers work closely with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leadership during planning time, staff workdays, and professional development days to create cohesive and rigorous learning experiences. Students engage in daily opportunities to reflect, lead, and contribute to the school community.
Competitive applicants for Achieve Academy are those who bring expertise in their endorsed content area while also embracing project-based learning, student voice, and culturally responsive practices. Ideal candidates have experience supporting diverse learners, thrive in a collaborative environment, and use creativity, communication, and leadership to inspire students to take ownership of their learning.
Achieve Academy is committed to providing powerful learning experiences for all students.
