Job Overview
Have a passion for the restaurant industry, but not the crazy hours and lack of support? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to assist in overseeing the daily operations of our very popular neighborhood bar and grill. We are locally owned and operated. The owner has over 30 years of experience and is present and supportive, and we don't overwork our staff. Our managers work less than 50 hours per week and get 2 days off. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. You will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food safety and quality, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests, and upholding our proven food and service standards.

Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, customer service, and food preparation.
  • Train and mentor staff in food handling, safety practices, and customer service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and monitoring food and liquor costs.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality food service.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Coordinate catering services for special events as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the hospitality industry. Or,
  • Proven experience in serving, bartending, customer service for at least 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff effectively.
  • Experience in kitchen operations, including food preparation techniques.
  • Familiarity with hospitality management principles and catering services is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $60,000.00 per year
