Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Associate specializing in Financial Services to join our team. This role is vital in expanding our client base, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of CRM tools and financial industry trends. This role serves an extension of the advisor, and blends outreach, relationship-building, and coordination to ensure prospects are effectively engaged and guided through the early stages of the client journey.

Responsibilities

Pipeline Development & Prospect Follow-Up

  • Proactively follow up with seminar attendees, referrals, and warm leads to schedule introductory appointments with the advisor
  • Serve as the first point of contact for many prospective clients, representing the advisor and the firm with professionalism and warmth
  • Use CRM to manage the lead pipeline, track status of outreach, update records, and flag follow-up needs
  • Work with the advisor to develop outreach scripts, email templates, and follow-up cadences
  • Monitor and report on outreach effectiveness, scheduling metrics, and lead-to-appointment conversion rates

Advisor Support & Communication

  • Maintain clear communication with the advisor regarding meeting prep, prospect notes, and action items
  • Coordinate calendars and scheduling logistics to optimize the advisor's availability for prospect appointments
  • Participate in briefings or debriefings after meetings to ensure continuity and support

Event & Seminar Coordination

  • Assist in preparing for public-facing events such as educational seminars, client appreciation events, or webinars
  • Ensure all materials are assembled, accurate, and professionally presented (e.g., folders, name tags, sign-in sheets, presentation handouts)
  • Support day-of logistics, registration tracking, and event follow-up communications

Strategic Development of the Role

  • Help shape the processes, templates, and best practices for future outreach and lead management efforts
  • Identify opportunities for new prospecting initiatives or relationship-building channels (e.g., networking events, LinkedIn outreach, referral systems)
  • Provide input on marketing campaign effectiveness from a front-line perspective

Requirements

  • Proven ability to build rapport and maintain relationships over the phone, email, and in person.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable supporting and occasionally attending after-hours events such as evening seminars or client appreciation functions.
  • Willingness to travel locally for events or offsite meetings as needed (typically within Central PA).
  • Detail-oriented and reliable in managing schedules, data entry, and lead tracking.
  • Able to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Tech-savvy and able to learn new tools and systems quickly (e.g., CRM, scheduling software).
  • Willingness to adapt and grow with the needs of the advisor and firm

Key Characteristics

  • Self-Starter: Takes initiative, anticipates next steps, and follows through without needing close supervision. Sees what needs to be done and jumps in to keep things moving.
  • Relationship-Builder: Naturally connects with people, whether it's a new prospect, a vendor, or a team member. Builds trust and maintains positive energy in all interactions.
  • Accountable & Trustworthy: Operates with integrity, follows through on commitments, and handles sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Growth-Minded: Open to feedback, eager to improve processes, and willing to adapt as the role and business needs evolve.
  • Service-Oriented: Keeps the advisor and client experience at the forefront—ensuring every follow-up, event, and interaction reflects care, attention, and professionalism.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
  • 1-3 years of experience in business development, client service, marketing support, or sales roles.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or professional services industries is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with CRMs (Redtail, Salesforce, HubSpot) and productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Calendly, Zoom) is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting seminars, webinars, or events is beneficial.
