We are currently seeking Heavy Equipment Operators and are hiring for multiple levels of experience, including entry-level, intermediate, and experienced operators. Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience under your belt, we encourage you to apply.
Equipment Operators are an integral part of the New Terrain Grading Team and is responsible for driving and operating equipment such as skid steer, mini excavator, compaction equipment, dozers and excavators, and off-road trucks. This person will work closely with the assigned project team to operate equipment efficiently, professionally, and safely
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Can maintain, and safely and efficiently operate with no oversite the following specific equipment at a minimum.
- Skid steers for fine grading, forks usage for loading and unloading
- Mini Excavators for erosion control, trenching, and Find Grading
- Compaction Equipment for meeting specified compaction requirement
- Offroad Trucks for haul off or moving material on site
- Dozer: Has ability to rough grade and push mass dirt. General Knowledge of operation of GPS Systems
- Excavator: Can Load trucks and excavate to rough Grade
- Competent person Training on Trenching, Rigging, and equipment to be operated
- Read entire equipment manual on equipment to operate and assessment conducted by supervisor
- The safe operation of company owned equipment under general supervision
- Daily and Monthly maintenance and inspections
- Ensure safety rules and environmental regulations are followed at all times
- Ability to read/use GPS technology in equipment
- Enforce safety procedures and follow all jobsite safety requirements from job to job
- Notifying supervisor of routine maintenance
- Keeping equipment clean and free of trash
- Train others as necessary when time allows
- Reading and understanding survey grade stakes.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must be able to withstand the physical requirements of the job (standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., etc.)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Running heavy equipment (dozer, track hoe, skid steer, and mini excavator)
- Rough grading, fine grading and backfill of various items
- Reading civil drawings, phases of work, specifications, and CEPSI Reports
- Experience laying storm drainage is a plus
- Has the skills to mentor and train other levels of heavy equipment operators and skilled labor
- Must possess the ability to think critically and problem solve
- Ability to work individually or in teams
- Positive, can-do attitude
- CDL A is a plus, but not required
