Position Overview
The Associate Human Resources Generalist provides essential support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, HR administration, benefits, and payroll coordination. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, consistent application of HR policies, and timely support for employees and managers. The Associate HR Generalist plays a key role in fostering a positive, compliant, and organized workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
- Assist with job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and communication with candidates.
- Support pre-employment processes such as background checks, I-9 verification, and airport badging/SIDA requirements (if applicable).
- Prepare offer letters, onboarding paperwork, and new hire checklists.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure all required documents and training schedules are completed.
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Maintain accurate employee files in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
- Update HRIS and payroll systems with employee changes including promotions, transfers, terminations, and demographic updates.
- Track certifications, licenses, onboarding tasks, and required renewals.
- Support administrative tasks related to employee lifecycle management.
Employee Relations Support
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and general questions.
- Document employee concerns or issues and escalate to HR leadership when appropriate.
- Assist with scheduling interviews or meetings related to employee relations or investigations.
- Support initiatives that strengthen workplace culture and engagement.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure accurate completion and tracking of compliance-related items such as I-9 documentation, harassment training, OSHA requirements, and food safety/airport compliance (as relevant).
- Support internal HR and compliance audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies and assist with policy distribution and acknowledgment tracking.
- Ensure labor law postings and compliance materials are properly displayed and current.
Benefits Administration Support
- Assist with employee benefits questions and enrollment processes.
- Prepare and maintain benefits documentation and track eligibility or life-change events.
- Assist with open enrollment communications, meetings, and tracking.
Payroll & Timekeeping Support
- Review employee timecards for accuracy and coordinate corrections.
- Support employees and managers with payroll-related questions.
- Assist with maintaining payroll documentation and reporting.
Training, Development & Communication
- Track training completion for new hires and ongoing programs.
- Coordinate training sessions with department managers and update training calendars.
- Assist in distributing internal HR communications and maintaining communication logs.
Employee Engagement & Retention Support
- Assist with employee recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and team-building events.
- Support exit processes, including coordinating exit interviews and final documentation.
- Assist with compiling HR metrics such as turnover trends, attendance, and staffing analytics.
HR Projects & Organizational Support
- Support HR leadership with ongoing projects including HRIS improvements, policy updates, job description development, and organizational planning.
- Assist in improving HR workflows, templates, and processes for efficiency and compliance.
- Participate in HR team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field (preferred).
- 1–2 years of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience with HRIS or payroll systems is a plus.
- Airport or hospitality industry experience (if applicable) is beneficial.

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HR software is preferred.
