Job Title: ServiceNow SPM Application Developer

Location: Remote (U.S. Based) | Clearance: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

About Sprezzatura

At Sprezzatura, we believe great engineering is a performance art.

Not showy — but deliberate, refined, and alive with intelligence.

We don't build software just to make things work.

We build experiences that feel inevitable — like they were always meant to exist.

Every form, flow, and application we design carries our signature: clarity, restraint, and precision.

We're looking for a ServiceNow Application Developer who sees beauty in architecture, meaning in maintainability, and poetry in code that just fits.

Here, you won't be told what to build — you'll be invited to shape how excellence looks when expressed through the ServiceNow platform.

The Culture

Sprezzatura is a culture of craftsmen, not coders.

We value elegance over excess, insight over instruction, and presence over pretense.

  • Mastery through calm: Pressure doesn't shake us; it sharpens us.

  • Autonomy through trust: We don't micromanage — we expect you to own your craft.

  • Discipline through design: Simplicity is sacred. Naming, patterns, and documentation matter.

  • Learning through creation: Every engagement is a chance to refine both the platform and ourselves.

We believe software can be graceful — and that grace requires mastery.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ServiceNow Application Developer to join our team on a transformative enterprise project. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of a custom ServiceNow application, consolidating and replacing functionality from multiple legacy tools.

This is an opportunity to work on a modern, scalable platform using low-code/no-code capabilities alongside traditional development approaches—delivering impactful solutions for business process automation, system integration, and data transformation.

The output of this project team will include building efficient applications and workflows to reduce work duplication, simplify tools sprawl and generate better data to support the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

You'll work at the intersection of art and architecture — crafting ServiceNow applications that are both useful and beautiful.

Your work will include:

  • Building bespoke ServiceNow scoped applications that embody the Sprezzatura standard — clean, performant, and human-centered.

  • Designing flows and automations that make complexity look simple using Flow Designer, Decision Tables, and Integration Hub Spokes.

  • Owner of ServiceNow Resource Manager functions and implementations.

  • Data Loads and Data Migration support between multiple tools. Data validation following migration initiatives.

  • Development and delivery of customer demonstrations to build excitement and manage expectations following development cycles.

  • Own VA Systems Inventory integration efforts for Service Now and provide support for other LCNC platforms that may need integration.

  • Extending the platform with well-structured components, reusable Script Includes, and App Engine frameworks.

  • Shaping reusable frameworks, not just features — so teams can build faster and smarter tomorrow.

  • Support Citizen Development training, best practices and governance.

  • Partnering with stakeholders and business analysts to refine requirements and translate them into clear and actionable technical solutions.

  • Leading and contributing to data migration strategies and execution, bringing legacy systems seamlessly into ServiceNow.

  • Contributing to the Sprezzatura Pattern Library — our evolving canon of ServiceNow best practices, naming conventions, and design heuristics.

Your mission: make ServiceNow sing.

What We Value

  • Craftsmanship: You care about elegance, readability, and structure. You treat the platform as a medium, not a constraint.

  • Composure: You bring calm clarity to chaos. You can hold technical complexity without spreading confusion.

  • Integrity: You deliver work you're proud to sign your name to — even when nobody's looking.

  • Curiosity: You keep learning. You chase patterns. You ask why, not just how.

  • Humility: You see engineering as service — to your teammates, your users, and your craft.

We don't chase credentials; we cultivate mastery.

Required Qualifications

  • Certifications (Required):

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years developing and deploying applications on the ServiceNow platform.

  • Demonstrated expertise with App Engine, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Scoped Applications.

  • Demonstrated expertise with Service Now SPM Module and prioritization of out of the box deployments.

  • Demonstrated expertise with Service Now Enterprise Architecture module deployments.

  • Recommend usage of SPM modules.

  • Data migration and governance.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Git, Update Sets, and Application Repositories.

  • Ability to architect modular, maintainable solutions aligned to CSDM-aligned patterns.

  • Low-Code / No-Code Expertise:

  • Flow Designer

  • Decision Tables

  • IntegrationHub Spokes

  • Process Automation Designer (PAD)

  • Playbooks

  • App Engine Studio (AES)

  • Knowledge Articles

  • Collaboration & Delivery:

  • Works effectively in Agile / Scrum environments.

  • Writes documentation others actually use.

  • Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (required for federal contracts).

  • CIS-App Engine, CIS-ITSM, or other advanced ServiceNow certifications.

  • Experience contributing to internal design systems or pattern libraries.
