FZ is looking for a Human Resources Manager for the Grand Rapids, MI office. This role is a key leadership member of the People Services team, responsible for developing and providing best in class HR solutions, tools and consultation to help our teams achieve business goals and positively impact the employee experience.  This role will coach, mentor and manage regional HR Generalists as it relates to HR matters as needed, serving as a point of contact for employees and leaders in the organization.

What We're Looking for:

  • A Player and Coach. You will help us build a team of Regional HR Generalists who you will mentor and guide on onboarding, performance management, compliance, employee relations, and HR policies to ensure consistent, high-quality support across the organization.
  • A Compliance Expert. You lead efforts to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, applying best practices and ensuring policies are implemented accurately and consistently.
  • A Talent Partner. You collaborate with Talent Acquisition and regional leaders to deliver effective recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, while coordinating training opportunities and adapting programs to site-specific needs.
  • An Innovator. You proactively design and implement systems and programs that improve processes, track performance against key indicators, and respond to evolving business needs with creative solutions.
  • A Trusted Advisor. You oversee investigations of employee concerns, consult on budget and strategy with the Director of People Services, and contribute to special projects that advance departmental goals.

 Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of HR experience, including 2+ years in HR leadership
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Expertise in federal and state labor laws and employee relations
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, field-first attitude
  • Safety awareness and willingness to wear PPE when visiting field locations
  • Hybrid schedule: minimum three days in-office weekly
