Junior Software Developer – Web

About the Role

TC Interactive Group builds custom web applications and AI-powered solutions for our clients. We're looking for a Junior Software Developer who loves writing code, shipping features, and experimenting with AI.

You'll work on a mix of web apps (front and back end) and AI programs (automation, computer vision, ML-powered tools), under the guidance of senior engineers.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services for web applications

• Build and enhance web frontends using modern JavaScript frameworks

• Implement and integrate AI features (e.g., computer vision, LLM models, or prompt-engineered LLM tools) into products

• Work with databases to design schemas, write queries, and build CRUD functionality

• Collaborate with a small team using Git, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum practices

• Integrate with third-party APIs and authentication flows (OAuth2, tokens, etc.)

• Help design and deploy applications using tools like Docker and Linux environments

Core Skills We're Looking For

You don't need 10 years of experience — but you must already be comfortable building things.

Backend / APIs (priority):

• Experience with at least one backend language:

• Python (preferred), Java, , or PHP

• Experience building RESTful APIs (even from school or personal projects)

• Understanding of JSON, request/response lifecycle, and error handling

• Basic knowledge of authentication/authorization (e.g., sessions, JWT, OAuth2, API keys)

Frontend / Web:

• Experience building a web UI using:

• React and TypeScript (strong plus) or modern JavaScript

• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript

• Comfortable consuming REST APIs from the frontend

Databases:

• Experience with SQL (designing tables, joins, CRUD queries)

• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, etc.)

AI & Related Skills (Big Plus)

Not required, but we're especially excited if you have any of:

• Projects using AI/ML or computer vision (e.g., OpenCV, image/video analysis, model integration)

• Experience with prompt engineering and building tools on top of LLMs (ChatGPT, etc.)

• Coursework in AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, or Computer Vision

• Experience integrating AI APIs (e.g., calling external ML/AI services from your code)

Tools & Practices We Use

You don't need all of these on day one, but you should be ready to learn them:

• Languages: Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS

• Frameworks/Libraries: FastAPI, React, , Tailwind CSS

• Dev Tools: Git, Docker, Postman, Jira, Linux

• Ways of Working: Agile/Scrum, code reviews, CI/CD

Ideal Background

• 0–2 years of professional experience (internships, co-ops, and projects all count)

• At least one substantial project building a web app or API that you can talk through

Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn quickly and take feedback

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
