Position Summary: Ensure successful performance and profitability of a branch office in all facets of Total Logistics Management including Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage. This will encompass areas including customer service, business development, finance, compliance with government agencies, staff development & retention, and adherence to company policies.

The Branch Manager's main goal is to increase the sales/business development and improve the customer service function of the branch. The branch manager will also oversee all staff and be responsible for day-to-day operational activities at the branch location. The individual will be responsible for the P&L of the branch. The branch manager will increase productivity while maintaining the highest levels of customer service, proficiency, and accuracy to customers.

Qualifications / Requirements:

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Ability to successfully resolve conflicts

· Ability to develop strategic plans and forecasts

· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

· Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

· Self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal corporate supervision

· Proficiency in all MS Office applications for presentations and report preparation

· 5+ years of management experience required in a sales and customer service role

· Experience in industry with sales and business development required

· Ocean and Air freight sales experience preferred

· Knowledge of Customs Brokerage, licensed Customs Broker preferred

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience highly preferred

Essential Duties / Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. Other duties may be assigned to meet changing business needs.

  • Manage all functions and operations of the branch office
  • Coordinate with sales staff on business development and sales duties including calling on accounts to increase revenue and profit
  • Prepare and analyze monthly productivity and financial reports
  • Maintain compliance records
  • Maintain relationships with government agencies and vendors
  • Ensure prompt billing to customers and assist with collections as needed
  • Responsible for credit management of customers pursuant to Accounting department guidelines
  • Manage office equipment and supply inventory
  • Travel as needed for corporate, trade functions and customer service
  • Develop business relationships with other management and support staff
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure professional conduct of all personnel when attending to company business
  • Exercises the authority to hire, discipline, reward, or discharge employees with prior approval of direct supervisor
  • Manage, develop, and train all personnel in branch location with support from Human Resources
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment on a regular basis to monitor branch performance
  • Responsible for branch P&L and end-to-end service of assigned branch customers
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of branch sales and service processes involving all internal and external resources available
  • Responsible for accuracy and up to date status of all customer billing and data requirements
  • Performs other responsibilities and completes tasks as directed by supervisor
