Retail Shop Manager

We invite you to be part of our growing retail management team on the doorstep of Acadia National Park in charming Bar Harbor ME.

Known for our friendly and attentive service, we are looking for those who are excited to be part of our 90 year legacy. We operate 8 shops plus an Ice Cream shop downtown Bar Harbor and 1 other shop in a neighboring town, Southwest Harbor. Retail Shop Manager responsibilities include:

• Day to day operations of shop
• Weekly Scheduling
• Merchandising effectively
• Training staff on company procedures
• Fostering shop team
• Completing staff reviews
• Communicating with staff and management team
• Inventory/Merchandise management
• Cash security

The ideal candidate is eager to learn and comfortable in a busy environment. Enjoys providing exceptional customer service. This position is hands on and requires working on the point of sale, lifting and moving merchandise bins and keeping displays attractive and maintained. The ideal candidate wants to lead their team to success and has retail management experience.

Our core season is May through October, though some shops are open longer and there is preparation to be done before the season and ramping down once the weather turns chilly. During the height of our season the shops are open from 8:00am to 11:00pm daily. Retail Managers are expected to work a wide variety of shifts to best understand the shops needs throughout the operating hours.

We have apartment housing available downtown Bar Harbor.

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
