Architect/Structural Engineer for Commercial Projects

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Architect or Engineer to partner with on a few upcoming commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have years of hands-on experience with commercial design and documentation and will play a key role in helping our clients secure city approvals prior to construction.

Our immediate project pipeline includes:

• Commercial demolition project
• Retail space remodel
• Multifamily/TOC project

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review construction drawings, plans, and specifications for commercial projects
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and contractors
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, zoning requirements, and client objectives
• Support permitting and approval processes
• Provide design and technical input from concept through construction
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals as needed
• Technical delivery of structural engineering documents with close collaboration with other disciplines
• Perform structural analysis/design/calculations and preparation of Structural Plans per governing building codes and design standards for residential and multifamily projects
• Act as the Designated Responsible Professional

Qualifications:

• Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain licensure, depending on role)
• Proven experience with commercial construction projects
• Experience with demolition, retail remodels, and/or TOC/TI projects preferred
• Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Portfolio / Work Samples Requirement:
Applicants must submit three (3) work samples as part of their application.
At least one sample must reflect experience in one or more of the following:

• Commercial demolition
• Retail remodel
• Multifamily (10+ units)

Samples may include drawings, plans, or project summaries demonstrating your role and responsibilities.
