Software Engineer III – Large-Scale Systems
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled
Software Engineer III
to design, build, and scale next-generation systems that power products used by millions of people around the globe. As a mid-to-senior level engineer, you will contribute to the architecture, development, and optimization of high-impact platforms—working on challenges of scale, performance, and reliability that few companies face.
In this role, you'll work in a collaborative, fast-moving environment alongside other engineers, data scientists, and product managers. You'll be empowered to solve complex technical problems, influence design decisions, and deliver solutions that have measurable impact at global scale.
What You'll Do
- Design & Build: Develop reliable, maintainable, and scalable systems that support billions of daily transactions and requests.
- Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to translate ideas into production-ready software.
- Optimize Performance: Analyze and improve system performance, latency, and efficiency across distributed environments.
- Code with Quality: Write clean, testable, and well-documented code with a focus on maintainability and long-term scalability.
- Contribute to Architecture: Participate in system design discussions and help shape technical direction on new and existing services.
- Operational Excellence: Take part in on-call rotations, monitoring, and incident response to ensure world-class reliability.
- Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of industry trends, experiment with cutting-edge technologies, and share knowledge across the engineering team.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience in production systems.
- Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one major language such as Python, Java, C++, or Go.
- Systems Knowledge: Hands-on experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and microservices.
- Database Expertise: Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching layers, and data modeling.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems, streaming pipelines, or high-throughput services.
- Background in performance tuning, observability, and reliability engineering.
- Exposure to containerization, orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
Why Join
This is an opportunity to build systems that touch millions of users every day, tackling problems of scale, reliability, and performance that only the largest technology leaders encounter. As a Software Engineer III, you'll deepen your expertise, grow your impact, and help shape platforms that define the future of technology at global scale.
