Speech and Language Pathologist
Indian Lake Elementary

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated individual to add to our team as a Speech and Language Pathologist and Indian Lake Elementary. This position follows the current VEA collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language assessments and develop IEP goals for preschool students, ages 3-5 years old, and students across grades K-12.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs and IEP team determinations.
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with IEP's placed in general education environments, GSRP program, and walk-in services in accordance with their IEP.
- Collaborate with educators, parents and other support staff to promote effective communication strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentations and progress reports in compliance with school policies.
- Attend and participate in team, school, and district meetings as necessary
Other duties as assigned by the building principal or ESI Supervisor.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
- Valid Speech and Language Pathology License from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
- Working knowledge of evidence based practices for speech and language intervention, including the Core Vocabulary board and LAMP.
- Knowledge of IDEA and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education.
- Experience working with children, preschool through graduation, their families and school systems.
- Must possess good decision-making skills.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be flexible in work assignments and adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs.
- Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
- May require an employee to lift and/or move heavy objects.
May require travel between buildings.
