We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent patient care skills, and a thorough understanding of clinical operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, by handing instruments, managing dental materials, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), when applicable, while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans, medical history, and medical coding.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health status before and after procedures to ensure safety.
- Maintain infection control protocols by following HIPAA regulations and proper sterilization procedures to safeguard patient information and prevent cross-contamination.
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient inquiries efficiently.
- Assist with medical documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with the team to implement four-handed dentistry techniques that enhance efficiency and reduce procedure time.
- Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness.
- Operate dental equipment such as intraoral cameras, digital X-ray machines, with proficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment that adheres to infection control standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general Dentistry setting is required.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
- Experience with X-ray procedures including digital imaging .
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy is mandatory.
- Skills in medical coding for billing purposes are preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor that fosters trust and comfort among patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
License/Certification:
