Operations Manager - Janitorial

The Operations Manager oversees all janitorial operations under the DeKalb County contract, including day porters, day cleaning, and night cleaning services. The position ensures contract compliance, quality assurance, staffing, safety, and schedule adherence across assigned facilities. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on field management, and readiness to perform cleaning duties when necessary.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

§ Supervise day porters, day cleaners, and night cleaners to ensure all work meets County standards for cleanliness, safety, and appearance.

§ Establish and maintain daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules consistent with performance standards.

§ Conduct regular facility inspections and document findings in quality control reports.

§ Monitor supplies, equipment, and material inventories; ensure environmentally safe products are used per County guidelines.

§ Implement and manage the Comprehensive Quality Control Plan (CQCP) and deficiency response process.

§ Respond promptly to client feedback, deficiency notices, and inspection findings.

§ Coordinate special projects, periodic deep cleans, and emergency services.

§ Schedule and assign staff according to building needs; provide relief coverage as required.

§ Ensure all employees meet background clearance and uniform/ID badge requirements.

§ Enforce site safety standards including PPE usage, key control, and access protocols.

§ Serve as primary on-site liaison with DeKalb County Facilities Management.

§ Participate in biweekly performance meetings and submit inspection checklists.

§ Provide weekly reports on staffing, inspections, and supply needs.

§ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

§ Minimum 5 years of janitorial management or facilities operations experience (multi-site preferred).

§ Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and client relations.

§ Ability to lead diverse teams and work flexible hours including evenings or weekends.

§ Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inspection tracking tools, and scheduling systems preferred.

§ Must be 21 years or older, have reliable transportation, and pass a 10-year background check.

§ High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).

Salary

■ $55,000 per year

■ Quarterly/Annual bonuses based on KPI performance

■ Paid biweekly

Pay: $ $26.44 per hour
