POSITION SUMMARY: The Elementary School Teacher - Grade 5 fulfills the mission of Saint Agatha School by providing instruction within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and policies. This position is anticipated, depending upon sufficient program enrollment.

FLSA: Exempt/37.5 hours per week, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM during the school year. This is a benefit-eligible position.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons to Grade 5 students.

  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement.

  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments.

  • Utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences in the classroom.

  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students as needed.

  • Foster a love for learning by making connections to real-world applications.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in elementary education.

  • Teach prescribed Religion curriculum to students each day.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Practicing member of the Catholic faith strongly preferred.

  • Valid teaching certification or license in Elementary Education preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of the subject matter and ability to effectively teach concepts to Elementary students.

  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education students.

  • Proficiency in behavior management techniques to create a positive classroom environment.

  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and instructional design principles.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Experience teaching Elementary school students is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41, $45,000.00 per year
