Acquired in April Don's Group Attire, originally founded as Don's Men's Shop in 1946, is a Seattle-based apparel and uniform provider specializing in custom embroidery, screen printing, and promotional products. We serve hospitality, athletics, and corporate clients with high-quality branded attire.
Position Summary
The Purchasing Specialist will manage procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of apparel, accessories, and related materials. This role is critical in maintaining inventory levels, supporting production schedules, and fostering strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Source and purchase apparel, fabrics, and accessories from approved vendors.
· Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality.
· Maintain accurate purchase orders and monitor inventory levels.
· Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast material needs.
· Evaluate supplier performance and identify new sourcing opportunities.
· Ensure compliance with company standards and sustainability initiatives.
· Resolve discrepancies related to orders, invoices, and deliveries.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (apparel industry preferred).
· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
· Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
· Required Travel – 1 or 2 days a week
· Excellent attendance is a must.
Preferred Skills
· Textile Knowledge: Understanding different fabrics, garment construction techniques, and customization processes such as embroidery and screen printing.
· ERP & Inventory Systems: Experience with enterprise resource planning tools and inventory management software to streamline procurement workflows.
· Supply Chain Optimization: Familiarity with demand forecasting, lead time reduction, and cost-saving strategies within apparel supply chains.
· Vendor Relationship Management: Skilled in building long-term partnerships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and reliable delivery.
· Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze purchasing data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency.
