Introduction:
We are Privately-Owned Solar Engineering Services firm, focusing exclusively on the development of industry-leading solar racking solutions. We develop, design, and sell racking products that are highly efficient and customized for each installation solutions that enhances the overall adoption of solar.
This is an excellent opportunity to support the business development efforts of our solar racking division. This role will aim to identify, win, and grow utility-scale solar tracker opportunities (100 MW+), particularly with utilities, IPPs, and large developers. The individual will bring tracker-market experience and drive DCE Solar's expansion into the large-scale utility sector. This position builds pipeline, cultivates relationships, engages with major developers, EPCs, and utilities, and closes high-value deals supporting DCE's growth and sale preparation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and qualify 100 MW+ utility-scale tracker projects.
- Leverage existing contacts in tracker manufacturing, EPCs, and utility developers.
- Map and engage decision-makers at IPPs, utilities, and major developers.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategy for tracker contracts, including positioning, pricing, and competitor analysis.
- Collaborate with our Business Development team to coordinate hand-offs with Services, Design, and Operations.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasts in CRM.
- Prepare proposals, negotiate terms, and close utility-scale deals.
- Track market trends, RFPs, and competitor movements to inform sales strategy.
- Represent DCE Solar at industry conferences and networking events.
- Work closely with marketing to develop thought-leadership content and case studies for the utility sector.
Required Qualifications & Experiences
- 7–10 years in business development or sales within solar or renewables.
- Direct experience with tracker systems or major components in the utility-scale market.
- Existing network with leading developers, IPPs, and EPCs.
- Deep understanding of utility procurement, RFPs, and contract negotiation.
- Proven track record in closing large-scale tracker or hardware deals (100 MW+).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient with CRM systems and pipeline management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Renewable Energy (MBA preferred but not required).
