Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services to individuals participating in California's Self-Determination Program (SDP). This role focuses on helping participants improve their communication, social interaction, adaptive behavior, and community participation. Services are delivered in home and community-based settings with a strong emphasis on person-centered goals and real-world functionality.

This position offers the chance to provide speech and communication support beyond clinical walls—fostering meaningful change in natural environments.

Pay is $100 for evaluations and $80-90/ 1 hour session depending if it is in home or at a clinic. There is also a need for AAC evaluations which can be done at an office in Grass Valley or at client's homes. This is flexible and we can figure out the correct pay rate for this as we go for the AAC evaluation/treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized, functional speech and language support aligned with person-centered planning and IPP (Individual Program Plan) goalsAddress communication skills such as expressive and receptive language, articulation, pragmatic/social communication, and AAC (as appropriate)
  • Facilitate opportunities for socialization and communication in home, educational, or community settings
  • Collaborate with families, Independent Facilitators, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support that honors participant preferences
  • Conduct informal assessments to determine current levels of function and develop practical intervention plans
  • Coach caregivers and support teams to help generalize communication strategies across settingsMaintain session notes, progress reports, and documentation required by SDP and Regional Center guidelines
  • Deliver services in flexible, creative ways that fit the participant's lifestyle and goals

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited programCurrent licensure in the State of California as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric, adolescent, or developmental disability populations

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays, or intellectual disabilitiesFamiliarity with California's Self-Determination Program and/or Regional Center services
  • Proficiency with or exposure to AAC devices, social communication interventions, and caregiver coachingComfortable working independently in clients' homes or community settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
