Clinical Supervisor

Location: Integrated Medical Clinic 337 E. Virginia Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00 PM

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Supervisor will provide oversight of the clinical care provided in the Outpatient Treatment Center (OTC) to assure substance abuse and psychological services are delivered to chemically dependent Native American men, women, their families, and other special needs populations. The Clinical Supervisor will evaluate the services provided and outcomes achieved by the team, recommend enhancements and/or improvements for programs and staff development to ensure consistent cost effectiveness and compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines in day-to-day activities. The Clinical Supervisor may be assigned oversight of the Intake team or the IOP team and will work in support of the entire department at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administrative and clinical supervision to staff, including performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and accountability.
  • Supervise and document regular staff supervision according to NAC and ADHS policy.
  • Supervise and provide direct oversight of interns and coordinate with placement college as required.
  • Review and sign off on ASAM, assessment, treatment plan, and other clinical documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Approve and oversee Outpatient group curriculum and clinical treatment programs.
  • Evaluate clinical programming to ensure best practice standards are met and treatment modalities are appropriate and up to date.
  • Ensure integration of therapeutic treatment with traditional healing practices.
  • Provide training to staff on SMI coordination and other required clinical processes.
  • Oversee and monitor referrals, assessments, walk-ins, and standby admissions to ensure timeliness and quality throughout the intake process.
  • Oversee admissions flow and Outpatient client volume to support high bed occupancy.
  • Work with leadership to prepare and revise clinical policy, procedures, and vision.
  • Ensure compliance with NAC policy, state licensure, ADHS, HRSA, IHS, and other regulatory standards.
  • Uphold accurate record keeping and documentation standards.
  • Support and promote inclusion through CLAS Standards.
  • Maintain strong referral and contractor relationships with community and tribal partners.
  • Monitor program census, productivity, and quality standards to support operational goals.
  • Monitor daily reporting on services and staff productivity.
  • Participate in Quality and Compliance reporting as directed by supervisor.
  • Identify and addresses system barriers to timely referral processing, assessment completion, and admission flow.
  • Provide direct clinical services in the outpatient clinic as needed, including completion of assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, and case management.
  • Provide support to Front Office Supervisor as needed to ensure flow of clients through the intake process.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Master's Degree in the behavioral health field, AND
  • AZ Board of Behavioral Health License, Independent License preferred OR
  • Associate License with approved Board of Behavioral Health Examiners supervision in place
  • Minimum three years' experience and professional knowledge in substance abuse, mental health, and psycho-educational programs; evaluation and diagnosis; 12-step programs and self-help groups; and treatment modalities that are effective with the target population.
  • Experience and ability to supervise approximately (10) employees, with at least 3 years supervisory experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • Experience with assessment tools that pertain to substance abuse, depression, and other behavioral health issues preferred.
  • Experience working with RBHA, TRBHA and various Electronic Health Record platforms preferred.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card upon hire.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire

SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in working with the Native American population preferred.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team approach.
  • Requires strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • Required strong clinical skills.

  • Knowledgeable about the economic, educational, and social challenges of Native Americans.

  • MS Office proficiency.

  • Bilingual- Spanish desired sources available

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to sit, stand and walk with/without accommodation.

Preference may be given to qualified Native American Indians according to the Indian Preference Hiring Act, CFR 25 USC 472. Other than Indian Preference, Native American Connections, Inc. adheres to all provisions of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT:

This position is considered to be Exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek.
